For HUD homes, if you are bidding as an owner-occupant, you must occupy the home for 12 months.  When you click on the link to view a HUD home, view the Property Condition report and the Environmental Compliance Report to get an idea of what repairs the property will need.   If the property is eligible for a 203(K) loan that will be indicated.  A 203(K) loan will allow you to finance the cost of repairs in with the loan.
